Trusted Electronic Materials, LLC (TEM) is a gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductor fabrication facility designed for exceptional security and reliability.
With a keen focus on measurably secure operations, the facility will provide state-of-the-art technology and advanced manufacturing processes. Designed to support numerous customers and accommodate multiple production lines, TEM will ensure redundancy and efficient production. Spanning an impressive 120,000 square feet of foundry space, the facility will offer ample room for product line growth and expansion, as well as house an exceptionally well equipped metrology division. Designed from the start to offer fabless design firms access to a GaN foundry that can handle high mix, low volume power and RF products, TEM offers robust IP firewalls that reassure multiple customers that their device designs and process recipes remain well protected. TEM partners with KSMC in Coffey County, KS as an integral part of the secure microchip manufacturing process. The Act also encourages the creation of ecosystems of suppliers, customers, and workforce training for underserved individuals and rural communities.
What is KSMC?
The Kansas Semiconductor Manufacturing Consortium (KSMC) is an emerging rural regional semiconductor manufacturing cluster recently formed as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between local government, higher education, and semiconductor component manufacturing partners. The formation of this entity creates the co-location of like-minded partners in a contiguous geographic area providing component manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and workforce development programs that share critical infrastructure, like equipment, space, and talent in ways that maximize efficiency.
